We are delighted to be welcoming Dave Dodd to the SEL team.  Dave is a highly experienced ex-Royal Navy Marine Electrical Engineer and an Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Practitioner.  He joins us after a career spanning 32 years in the Royal Navy serving across the UK and worldwide.

Dave’s most recent role was providing 2nd Party Assurance of the Royal Navy’s Surface Ships and Submarines, to ensure their Safety and Environmental Managements Systems were effective and tested during Audit. He is also a Health and Safety 2nd Party Lead Auditor with expertise in Risk Management and Assessment. 

Dave has been involved in all aspects of propulsion, electrical generation and associated systems as an Engineering Officer of the Watch (Ship Control Centre Supervisor) and Electrical Distribution Systems Manager.  He is a proven leader/member of multi-disciplined teams involved in a wide range of both technical equipment support and managerial oversight of Ship operations, contractor maintenance and essential defect rectification.

On joining SEL Dave will be working alongside Director, Steve Vickery and the maritime safety team, developing our safety management capabilities, particularly in the area of fire safety. He will also be working with our Business Development team to extend our capabilities in conventional health and safety management.
